This grand auditorium is a jewel in our Inland Valley.
It was constructed in 1939 on
the campus of what was then Chaffey College. The architects, Allison and
Allison, were known for designing several buildings on the UCLA campus
and at the Claremont Colleges and used the model of Spanish Colonial
design for Gardiner Spring.
Gardiner Spring Auditorium has a rich history. Over the years
many illustrious artists have performed on its stage. Among them were Victor
Borge, Paul Robeson, The Trapp Family Singers, Eddie Canter, Glen Miller’s
Orchestra, Marion Anderson, Isaac Stern and many, many more.
We are privileged to continue the tradition of enjoying fine
entertainment in this elegant setting. The building seats 2,100 making it the
largest indoor entertainment venue in San Bernardino County. It also houses
an Austin Theatre organ, which was built in 1919. The organ’s 3,894 pipes
are installed in two rooms over the auditorium’s stage.
